That Dam Ride, Lake Roosevelt Dam, AZ.

I'm a rider.  I always have been.

When I was a young-un, but old enough to walk, people would ask, "Why isn't he walking?"  The reply always came back the same.  "He doesn't have to, he has 5 sisters!"

I remember when I was about 5 years old I got this gadget for Christmas.  It mounted in between the frame rails of my bike and had a lever on it.  When you moved the lever back and forth it would go "varoooom varooom..."

We had horses while I was growing up and around that same age, someone put me up on one of Mr Beasly's horses, I think it was Shorty, who promptly bucked me right off his back and in to a sticker patch.  Of course I'd had enough and was near tears and I remember my dad saying, "Well, you'd better get back on that horse".  I didn't want to, but I'm glad I did.  I've spent a lot of time getting back on horses since then.  Thank's Dad!

I grew up riding.  Horses, cows, go carts, skateboards, dirt bikes, street bikes, mountain bikes, snow skis, water skis, telemark skis, tractors, backhoes, swingers, fork lifts, snow machines, (or snow mobile depending on where you're riding them), cotton combines, 3 wheelers, 4 wheelers, jeeps, airplanes and helicopters.

I've had several bikes.  When I say bikes, I'm referring to motorcycles unless I specifically name something like my Specialized stump jumper mountain bike.  That's my 2006 Harley Road King     ----------------------->

I don't think that a Harley is all that great of a bike.  It's certainly not the best priced, it's not the best designed, it's not the most reliable and it's not the most economical.  But it's a Harley.  It looks, feels and sounds like a Harley.  It's a tradition and I love it.  Even if you're not a Harley enthusiast, but love to ride, or just don't understand the Harley love, then you'll appreciate "Live By It". It's kind of like the same feeling I get for the De Havilland Beaver with the 9 Cyl rotory Pratt and Whitney engine.  It's Tradition.  And there's nothing that sounds like that round engine.

And I'm the kind of  person who says, if you really want something, you probably won't be happy with any imitations.  You might as well save your time and money and get what you really want to begin with.
Probably the best bike I ever had was my 1982 Suzuki GS750LX.  It was the brand new 16 valve 4 cylinder engine and touted as the fastest street production bike at the time.

I concur, it was fast!  Well maybe it wasn't the "best", but it was a good bike and I sure had some good times on it.

Obviously my friends have super Photoshop skills and way too much time on their hands.
